Humanitou is about humanness, creativity and reclaiming the best in ourselves. One way that comes together at Humanitou is through one-on-one conversations with creative, thinking, sharing humans.
It’s the deep stuff. I ask each person to sit down with me for an hour, to answer my curiosities and then to let me make portraits and other photographs of them doing what they do. Those portraits are featured below.
Humanitou started in 2017 as a means of using my creative interests and professional skills to connect with the arts and my community. I show my photography in area galleries, featuring my ongoing work from Humanitou and Reverence.
Exhibiting Humanitou. A solo show of Humanitou portraiture and photography is planned for September 2020 in the Hagnauer Gallery in Manitou Springs, Colo. I envision this show as a community event that brings together those who have participated in this project, those who know and love them, and the surrounding community.
Support for Humanitou. The support for this project continues to grow. Most recently, Humanitou was selected as a finalist for the Peak Arts Prize. I am amazed by all this and can’t say “thank you” enough. But the work you see below continues as a quiet “thank you” to those who share their humanness and creativity with me and through Humanitou.
